BMLT Demos

Live Demos of the BMLT

Click Here to Go to the Intro PageThese pages are all “live” demonstrations of the BMLT, running on this Web site, using the WordPress Satellite. It is possible to have similar implementations, using the Joomla! Satellite, or the Drupal Satellite.

First, a quick word of explanation: These are all implemented using the keys and shortcodes outlined in this post. Each page will discuss the syntax of the key used to generate it.

The Settings Used for these Demos
This page shows the settings that were entered in the site backend, and what each of these demo page uses. The site has set up 3 settings: Two are pointed at the “live” Greater New York Region, and one is pointed at a test server for the UKNA Region.
The “Classic” Interactive BMLT Search
These display the standard, interactive BMLT search.
Classic Default BMLT Code
This page uses the “[[bmlt]]” code, with no parameters. It displays the default (first) settings, which happen to be for the Greater New York Region. The settings used are visible in a screenshot here.
UKNA Meetings
This page uses the “<!–bmlt(1303913596)–>” code, with a parameter, specifying the UKNA Test Server, and the green and gold stylesheet. The settings used are visible in a screenshot here.
Upstate New York
This page uses the “[[bmlt]]” code, with no parameters, but it does specify the settings in a Custom Field (bmlt_settings_id). It displays the Upstate New York settings, which happen to be for the Greater New York Region, and use the blue/white color theme. The settings used are visible in a screenshot here.
The “Simple” Display-Only Search
These demonstrate the “simple” search, that puts unstyled search results onto the page.
Weekend Brooklyn, NY Meetings
Displays the Saturday and Sunday meetings in Brooklyn, NY. This has had CSS styling applied.
Weekend Glasgow, Scotland Meetings
Displays the Saturday and Sunday meetings in Glasgow, Scotland, UK (It shows how you link to different settings). This has the same CSS styling applied as the Brooklyn meetings page.
Format Key for the Greater New York Region
Displays a format legend for the Greater New York Region settings.
The Mobile Redirect
It is possible to have certain pages act as “redirects,” where, when accessed by a mobile device, a special page is shown in their place.
The GNYR Mobile Handler
This uses the default (GNYR) settings.
The UKNA Mobile
This uses a parameter list that specifies the UKNA settings.
Upstate New York Mobile
This uses a custom field (only available on WordPress) to specify the Upstate New York settings.
This is a new capability that allows a fast, easy-to-use replacement for the standard “[[bmlt]]” shortcode.
NOTE: There is a problem with this demo (only on this site) that seems to be caused by a CSS collision with Google’s CSS. I’m working to determine the issue. In the meantime, you can view a proper demo here.
The Default Map Search
This uses the default (GNYR) settings.
The UKNA Map Search
This uses the UKNA settings.
“Four-Way” Map Search
An impressive demonstration of the speed of this map search. Four separate servers are presented on one page.
The Dynamic Popup Menu (Only available on WordPress)
You can set up a basic AJAX-powered dynamic popup menu on WordPress
The GNYR Popup Search
This uses the default (GNYR) settings.
The UKNA Popup Search
This uses the UKNA settings. It also will send meeting clicks to the local handler.
The Upstate New York Popup Search
This uses the Upstate GNYR settings. It also will send meeting clicks to the local handler.
